Welcome to the High Peak Hunt

Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, between Bakewell, Buxton, and Ashbourne,

the High Peak Hunt follows a proud tradition of riding across some of Derbyshire’s most breathtaking countryside. Our country is a tapestry of rolling hills, stone walls, and rich old turf, rising over 1,000 feet above sea level — a landscape that tests both horse and rider and rewards them with views and experiences found nowhere else.

Whether you’re a seasoned follower, a newcomer to the saddle, or simply curious about the sport’s heritage, you’ll find a warm welcome within our community. We pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere, strong field of horses, and a shared respect for the land, stock, and wildlife that make this country so special.

🐾 Tradition, Teamwork & the Countryside

Our hounds are at the heart of everything we do — carefully bred, trained, and exercised by a dedicated team who ensure their welfare and fitness year-round. Each meet celebrates teamwork between hounds, horses, and humans, and the close partnership with local farmers and landowners who generously grant access across their ground.

We’re proud to maintain this living link to our rural heritage while ensuring that all our activities are conducted strictly within the law, in full compliance with the Hunting Act 2004.

🌿 Join Us

Throughout the year, we host a calendar of hound exercises, social rides, fundraising events, and hunt breakfasts — open to both mounted and non-mounted supporters. These are fantastic opportunities to meet like-minded people, enjoy the countryside, and support the future of rural sport in the High Peak.
