history and tradition since 1848
The High Peak Hunt is predominantly a stone-wall country, which lies between Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne in the Peak District of Derbyshire. It consists of old pasture with some plough, and is generally more than 1,000 feet above sea level.
Hounds meet 3 days a fortnight and the occasional Bye Day during the season -
November to February
We hunt within the law and continue to fight The Hunting Act of 2004.
The Masters and all who hunt are deeply grateful to everyone who allows them to cross their land, enabling them to enjoy the thrill of following hounds in one of the most naturally beautiful hunting countries in England.
Visitors are very welcome by arrangement with the Field Secretary.
Please support our farmers by buying British produce.
